Illustration Friday: Pet Peeves

This week's topic fits well with a painting that I have been working on. Lately, I feel like my memory is just not working like it used to. Whenever I am introduced to somone, the name just flies out of my head a second later.

So I have been trying this slightly different style....something more abstract and with not as many dark colors. The realism of some of my other work gets a little tedious.

It's a very pretty illustration. I love the pattern on her skirt. It was fun for me reading through your other posts since I still work in pencil and pastel on paper. Thanks for sharing.

Really nice work. You really have some wondferful textures and colors going on here and I love all of the things flying from the birdcage. I know what you mean about memory....I am sort of scaring myself lately with how little I retain!! It's like my brain is overflowing.

I really like this a lot. I like the soft colors and the blue pattern behind the birds. And the subject is something I'm very familiar with. Sometimes I barely can remember my name!

Memory lapses and motherhood go hand-in-hand. Be glad you haven't forgetten to put Charlotte in the car seat and driven off without her (or have you?).

I love this - the palette is so fresh and the drawing is dynamic. I love the patterning too. Go girl.
